Soulful Connection. Recharging Your Spirit. Sisterhood. Shining Your Inner Light. These are the ideas I had in mind as I envisioned creating women's wellness retreats. I wanted to create a space specifically for African-American women where we could come together & build a sense of community, while also spending time healing ourselves individually, tapping into our own inner wisdom, and re-establishing the pathway to our hearts. In getting back to center and reacquainting ourselves with our own voice as well as the needs & desires of our spirits, we will be able to harness our internal light...which we can then use to shine more brightly in the world.

Join us for our 2nd annual women’s weekend retreat, “Authentic Living,” taking place September 27-29, 2019. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills at the Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast, we will step away from the everyday hustle and bustle, silence the external noise, and become intentional about reconnecting with ourselves.

The location of the retreat, the Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast Inn, is located just East of Sacramento in the picturesque Sierra Nevada Foothills, at the south fork of the American River. Bella Vista is in the heart of El Dorado Wine Country, and is surrounded by many of the premier vineyards in the Northern California. This is the perfect location to unwind, relax and tune into mindfulness.



Food:  In this all-inclusive experience, breakfast will be provided by Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast.  Lunch and dinner, which are also included, will be catered by Table Nectar, locally known and highly respected for their organic, flavorful cuisine.

Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra is a gentle but profound meditative practice resulting in a deep state of rest and awareness; it is a language the mind and body understands. Yoga Nidra addresses the overactive mind and the body’s response to pain. The body is still, the mind is still and the nervous system re-balances.

During the retreat, we will have a 1-hour Yoga Nidra session, guided by Jill Weston, owner of Breathing Space.  In Yoga Nidra, no postures are involved.  You will simply lie still with your eyes closed, while guided through a relaxing body scan and visualization. The stillness creates safe space to notice stressful thoughts and physical discomfort. During Yoga Nidra, participants gain insight and safely discover and uncover stressors and lifestyle blockages.
